Accessibility

Our commitment

We aim to provide a site that is clear, readable and navigable, whatever the device or assistive technology used. Accessibility is considered when designing and updating the site.

Reference standard

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, as our conformance target. The site has not undergone an independent accessibility audit.

Measures in place

The following are built into the site:

• A skip link to jump straight to the main content
• Semantic structure (ordered headings, navigation landmarks, ARIA regions)
• High contrast between text and background
• Alternative text on meaningful images, with decorative images hidden from screen readers
• Forms with visible labels, announced error messages and fields tied to their label
• Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator
• Tap targets at least 44 pixels high
• Support for the operating system's "reduce motion" setting
• Responsive layout that works on mobile, tablet and desktop
• Page language declared (French or English) for screen readers

Known limitations

Some decorative background images and the display typeface may reduce legibility in certain conditions. We fix reported issues as they come in.
